The Good Ole Days.. Were They Good

Ecclesiastes 7:10..."Do not say, 'Why were the former days better than these?' For you do not inquire wisely concerning this." (New King James Version). When trials and tribulations come our way, we may have a tendency to look back to the times when we were not followers of Christ. The devil will do anything to make us go back to our sinful days when we did things our way with no regard for others. We may think that we had more money when we weren't giving to God's Kingdom or our lives seemed simpler, and when we go down this particular memory lane, satan can deceive us because we're no longer on his side and he's upset. Truthfully, we were much worse off because we were spiritually dead and had no direction because we were not acknowledging God. The above scripture tells us that it's not wise to do this. Whenever we come into the knowledge of God's Kingdom and decide to give our life to Him, satan comes in instantly to attack us and take away the word and faith that we've acquired (Mark 4:15). Jesus promised us that we would have tribulations in this world, but to cheer up because He'd overcome the world (John16:33). So that's good news! Whenever trouble comes, we know that if we're in Christ, we're overcomers also! So let's keep pressing forward and not look back because Ecclesiastes 7:8 says "Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof: and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit." So let's praise God for the better days that are coming and stay patient. Be blessed!
